Blondie is a new boutique hair salon in Edmonton that opened in April 2020.
Yes… we know what you’re thinking.
They opened a hair salon in the midst of covid chaos?
Yes!
And owners Alaina and Ella think the timing couldn’t have been better.
The pair took their time cultivating a brand that looked and felt seamless and when the timing was right, they launched a merch line and began promoting both the salon and their threads on Instagram.
There are a few reasons why we found the story of Blondie so compelling. First, has been their insistence that Blondie is about more than just a hair colour - it’s a lifestyle.
Lifestyle branding is a whole new niche of marketing that aims to create a brand that is about more than just the product. Instead, the brand embodies a set of values, interests, and attitudes about life.
It's a way of saying hey - when you get a haircut at Blondie or sport one of their sweatsuits, you’re not just receiving a service or a product. You’re showing the world you embody the Blondie lifestyle.
